The uploading for the Alyeska Cup series is now complete. Thanks for being patient and for visiting.

1. Number of photos. You might notice that there are more photos of some racers than others. Sometimes that is just good or bad luck, depending on whether I am changing a card or battery or getting snow or rain off the lens. Other times it is because a sequence seems useful to show what a racer is doing. And often there are more shots of good or aggressive skiing and racing. I may sometimes miss a racer, but that is rare. If I missed you, I'm sorry.

And sometimes a shot has great action but isn't as sharp as I think it needs to be. Those don't get uploaded.

2. Falls and bobbles. Sometimes there are photos of bobbles, wild moves, and even crashes. These are included partly to show historically what happened on race day and also to illustrate how difficult this sport is, even for highly trained athletes. A lot of casual observers and even parents don't realize how hard it can be and what dynamic forces tug at racers. These photos are not meant to embarrass the racers shown, but are meant to show sympathetically what didn't go according to plan or desire.

3. ADN photos. I normally send two photos, and sometimes three, to the ADN, with captions. I also sent two (Cedar Miles and Johanna Griggs) to the Empire. On race day, the first priority is getting photos to the ADN, because publicity for our sport and for the athletes is so important.

4. Print and file orders. These photos are primarily taken and uploaded to entertain and inform racers and parents and to publicize ski racing in the ADN, especially. But if you want to order a print or digital file, I suggest you email me before ordering anything, so I can confirm the image you want will make a print or digital file that is satisfactory.

Important: I strongly recommend you email me directly or through Zenfolio before ordering large (8x12 or bigger) prints or high-res digital files. Let me know which images you might want, so I can confirm that a quality print or file will result. Many skiing shots are made in difficult conditions. Some files can be much larger, and some can't, depending on shooting conditions.

I upload only relatively small files to Zenfolio; most are not fully edited and if anyone were to order a large digital file or prints larger than 4x6, I would re-edit and re-crop and substitute the re-edited and larger file. The white balance often needs some adjustment.

I donate all sales proceeds to Alyeska Ski Club's junior program.

Prints can be ordered in three sizes, up to 8x12 inches. Some images could be printed much larger, but many could not because I had to shoot some at very high ISO and had to crop a lot. All should make high quality 8x12s. I am only allowing standard color prints. I have often converted images to B&W, and would do so on a special-order basis if you are interested. Likewise, if you really would like a larger print (12x18, for example), email me and some images could print even larger.

5. Timing. I have to approve all orders before they are processed, to make sure image quality is sufficient and to re-edit as necessary. So there will like be some delay before the lab processes an order, especially if I am traveling. The lab I use, Mpix, is great and very fast.

6. Bulk rates. There is a 3-pack digital photo option. And if you might want multiple prints of 8x12 size, email me directly. I will personally send you a rebate check after your order is final and processed. The rebate would be $15 if you order three 8x12 prints (net cost is thus $60 for three, rather than $75). Applies to three prints of same image or one print each of three different images.

7. Standouts. There is also a "standout" option for 8x12s; the print is mounted on thick foam core and mounts directly on a wall, saving matting and framing expense. It costs a lot, but the savings could justify it.

Very important: it is hard or impossible to cancel or change an order once you place it; don't place an order until you are sure. Email me if you have questions.

8. The Zenfolio watermark. I am sorry about the large watermark; it helps prevent screenshots. If anyone wants the equivalent of a screenshot image, please buy the low-res digital file, so that the ski club benefits. Screenshots deprive the ski club of donations. The large watermark is deleted from purchased prints or files. My small "Bob Eastaugh" watermark will still appear in the lower left corner.

9. Questions or comments. If you have any questions or comments, always feel free to email me either through Zenfolio or just directly at [email protected]. I welcome comments about the images, the order process, print quality, and so on.

Many thanks, everyone, for the fast, aesthetic racing. Always feel free to look at the images in the gallery; purchase is not necessary. Good luck racing.
