Here are some more-closely cropped photos of racers; each is a "race face." Uploading is complete (subject to special requests - see below).

As you would expect, not every image file can be tightly cropped without losing sharpness. These are samples. If anyone really wants to see if a face shot is possible from the existing image galleries (or any of the files I haven't uploaded - roughly 15,000 more images) give me my image file number and I'll see what's possible.

The race photos I try to take reveal at their best something of the racer. They are action portraits. Most athletes really want to see boots and skis and knees, so they can tell if they are stacked and carving cleanly (no snow spray), but most parents like the idea of seeing the human inside the armor. So these shots are mainly for parents.
