Uploading of SL2 images is complete. I am including some B&W conversions, too. If you might want to order a B&W, let me know so I can reactivate the B&W price list.

You might notice that there are more photos of some racers than others. Sometimes that is just good or bad luck, depending on whether I am changing a card or battery or getting snow off the lens. Other times it is because a sequence seems useful to show what a racer is doing. And often there are more shots of good or aggressive skiing and racing. I may have missed at least one racer, when snow was on the lens.

Sometimes there are photos of bobbles, wild moves, and even crashes. These are in partly to show historically what happened on race day and also to illustrate how difficult this sport is, even for highly trained athletes. A lot of casual observers and even parents don't realize how hard it can be and what dynamic forces tug at racers. These photos are not meant to embarrass the racers shown, and are meant to show sympathetically what didn't go according to plan or desire.

I suggest you email me before ordering anything, so I can confirm the image you want will make a print or digital file that is satisfactory. There were snow flurries all day where I was shooting, and snow on the lens would accumulate if I tried to shoot uphill, into the wind.

I sent four to the ADN, with these captions for Jan 2 Coca-Cola Holiday Classic slalom 2: For 0723.jpg Bib 7 Alyeska Ski Club’s Mary Grace Stahla won the U-14 class and finished fourth overall in Coca-Cola Holiday Classic slalom 2 at Alyeska Saturday. U-19 Amanda Lundgren won. Madilyn Short was second, 52/hundreths back, and Sanne Cassee, a U-16, was third, 87/hundreths behind Short. Snow flurries sometimes obscured racers’ vision, but made for great recreational skiing. For 1806.jpg Bib 6 Alyeska Ski Club U-16 Jack Stahla dives into his second run in Saturday’s Coca-Cola Holiday Classic slalom 2 at Alyeska. Only fifteenth after a slow first run, Stahla moved up to sixth with the fastest second run of the day. U-19 Adam Garrigus won, followed by U-16 Conner Lane, four seconds behind, and Ely Cerutti, another seven/tenths back. I included two other photos, just in case the ADN preferred them. Here were their captions: For 1199.jpg Bib 15 A slalom pole whips over Ely Cerutti’s head in the Coca-Cola Holiday Classic slalom 2 at Alyeska. Fifth after the first run, Cerutti moved into third, seven/tenths behind second-place finisher Conner Lane. Adam Garrigus won, distancing the men’s field of 38 by more than four seconds. For 2061.jpg Bib 42 One of only two first-year U-12s in the Coca-Cola Holiday Classic slalom 2 at Alyeska Saturday, Finnigan Donley won his class and finished nineteenth overall in a field of 38 male racers.
