Fish Camp, Part 2; Halibut Cove, 2017
More photos are needed to illustrate Fish Camp adequately. They are pretty much in chronological order. This post shows the middle steps: waiting for the chunks to skim over in the air, protected by prayer flags from crows and eagles, and then placing them (the chunks, not the crows or eagles) in the two smokers.

The prayer flags are an important element in what is ultimately a reaffirmance of belief that salmon both can be cured (and "canned") and can cure many evils.

After a lifetime of mainly expressing myself with words, my postings here will mainly rely on images. They will speak for themselves to some extent, but I'll usually add a few comments of explanation. I've taken photographs for decades, since the 1950's, inspired in part by my father's photographic skill. Four years of photo assignments and quality darkroom time eventually gave way to decades of casual and family picture-taking. I re-immersed myself when I left film and turned to digital.
