Mallorca Scenes, Part 6; April-May 2018

Palma offers all the diversions of a working port city with a long history.  Incredible yachts, half a dozen cruise ships as large as the Nimitz, flocks of tourists milling randomly down narrow and crowded streets, a vast, blocky Gothic cathedral that could be the giant box Milan's Duomo came in, selfie-snappers, fine food in unpretentious settings, street vendors.  A good place to visit, even in drenching torrential rain.

The downpour bounced.

The sky cleared before the esplanade did.

There was a good mix of old and very new architecture.

After a lifetime of mainly expressing myself with words, my postings here will mainly rely on images.  They will speak for themselves to some extent, but I'll usually add a few comments of explanation.  I've taken photographs for decades, since the 1950's, inspired in part by my father's photographic skill.  Four years of photo assignments and quality darkroom time eventually gave way to decades of casual and family picture-taking.  I re-immersed myself when I left film and turned to digital.
