Final dog show thoughts. The prior posts might have made the dog show seem pretty serious. There were, after all, some out-of-state competitors trying to accumulate points to move up in the show world and handlers managing multiple dogs. But on the whole the participants, canine and human, appeared to be having fun and no one, human or canine, was obviously shedding tears of disappointment at the results. Certainly it was entertaining for spectators to watch the show events and the dogs and handlers perform, and to admire the dogs' behavior, stoicism, and beauty. And there was plenty of inter-species affection on display. Even the poodles sometimes showed emotion. As did the handlers.

After a lifetime of mainly expressing myself with words, my postings here will mainly rely on images. They will speak for themselves to some extent, but I'll usually add a few comments of explanation. I've taken photographs for decades, since the 1950's, inspired in part by my father's photographic skill. Four years of photo assignments and quality darkroom time eventually gave way to decades of casual and family picture-taking. I re-immersed myself when I left film and turned to digital.
