Big Moose, Little Moose. Again. Part Three. (Anchorage, May 2020)

May 30, 2020  •  Leave a Comment

This was the new family, roughly 24 hours after the calves were born.

The calves are curious about their brand-new surroundings (and, at 24 hours, everything is brand new). They are obviously very cute, in a plush-toy sense.

Mom remains focused on what's really important: browsing, nursing, staying safe.

Even mom has moments of cuteness, when she stands in dappled shadows.

Meanwhile, the calves discover the rough layout for a new garden.

The family gathers for some quality nuzzling time.

And then settle down for a nap on the edge of the woods.

After a lifetime of mainly expressing myself with words, my postings here will mainly rely on images.  They will speak for themselves to some extent, but I'll usually add a few comments of explanation.  I've taken photographs for decades, since the 1950's, inspired in part by my father's photographic skill.  Four years of photo assignments and quality darkroom time eventually gave way to decades of casual and family picture-taking.  I re-immersed myself when I left film and turned to digital.
