Here are the three captions I submitted to the Anchorage Daily News with the three images:

Cross-blocking a gate on Alyeska’s Race Trail, Alyeska Ski Club U18 Abigail Kragt finished sixth overall in Wednesday’s Western Region Junior Championships slalom, behind two UAA racers, two U21 racers, and Crystal Mountain U18 Quinn Dennehy. She was fifth among the juniors.



Racing in the Senior age class, Ella Bromee, a UAA freshman from Ostanskar, Sweden, exits a hairpin combination in the first course. She won both runs in Wednesday’s Western Region Junior Championships slalom on Alyeska’s Race Trail as snow continued to fall, sometimes heavily and wind-driven.


Contending with snow flurries, Annaliese Frohlich, a Crystal Mountain Athletic Club U21, reverse shoulders the entry gate to a hairpin combination Wednesday in the Western Region Junior Championships slalom at Alyeska. She finished second in the junior class and third overall behind two UAA racers, Elle Bromee and Carmen Sofie Nielssen.
