Here are the images from the Invitational Slalom. All the ladies' and men's photos are up. About 400 photos posted out of about 1200 frames taken during Race 1. Viewing is free.

I took about 5-10 frames of each racer on each run. I have tried to upload one or two frames of every entrant for each run. I don't think I missed anyone, but if I did, I apologize.

I uploaded more of some people than of others; this was largely dependent on photo image quality and whether something interesting was going on. And sometimes I just liked the photo even if it doesn't depict a perfect, high energy turn.

Fabulous racing. A great pleasure to see and photograph. Thanks, racers.

The site's "slideshow" function is low resolution. I am shooting very high res images and am uploading (for speed and efficiency) files that are about 2 mB. On screen, even these small files produce images that are much sharper when seen individually. Toggling from one image to another or using the cursor to select a particular photo, gives much sharper images than letting the site slideshow feature simply cycle through. If anyone choses to purchase images, I donate all net proceeds to the Alyeska junior program. Photos are in run order, and thus in chronological order as taken.

The purpose of these galleries is mainly to let racers review and relive and enjoy some athletic moments in the race, not to sell pictures. But if you are interested in purchasing images, I recommend you contact me first. Very important: the lab is very good but it will not permit changing or canceling an order after it is placed. Also, a few photos as edited are not 2:3 aspect ratio (as shot in the camera). Be careful not to order a photo with non-2:3 aspect ration; contact me first. I haven't set prices for square images (1:1) or quasi-panoramas.

I will substitute much higher resolution files and re-edited images for any orders for large prints.

Feel free to email me with any questions or suggestions.

Important: If you are considering whether to order prints, it appears the lab will increase print costs 10-20% effective March 17.
