Maui Fauna, Part One; April 2017

April 19, 2017  •  Leave a Comment

There is no systematic way for a casual visitor to photograph all species in Maui.  There is considerable diversity, and some types are well off the grid.  But even distinctly domesticated animals can be interesting.  Here is the first installment.  Unfortunately, we couldn't stop to photograph the twenty or so pigs rooting for eggs in the wildlife preserve.

Two of Janice's sheep are more interested in a person holding a camera than the visitor who dropped in to see what was going on.  The visitor seems to have forgotten why he dropped in.

After a lifetime of mainly expressing myself with words, my postings here will mainly rely on images.  They will speak for themselves to some extent, but I'll usually add a few comments of explanation.  I've taken photographs for decades, since the 1950's, inspired in part by my father's photographic skill.  Four years of photo assignments and quality darkroom time eventually gave way to decades of casual and family picture-taking.  I re-immersed myself when I left film and turned to digital.
