Color Separations, 2018

Juxtaposed colors, separated with little or no transition, intrigue me.  These are usually found images, often discovered and preserved by happenstance, while wandering.  There is no common subject matter (foliage or buildings or some other object) denominator in the usual sense; the subject matter is really the transition between one color and another.

Prototypical color separation: two colors of paint (fittingly, on Opus art supply building, Victoria, B.C.).

And varied transitions between sky and earth and man-made object (737 winglet) on Southbound flight over Southeast Alaska.

After a lifetime of mainly expressing myself with words, my postings here will mainly rely on images.  They will speak for themselves to some extent, but I'll usually add a few comments of explanation.  I've taken photographs for decades, since the 1950's, inspired in part by my father's photographic skill.  Four years of photo assignments and quality darkroom time eventually gave way to decades of casual and family picture-taking.  I re-immersed myself when I left film and turned to digital.
