Inlet Interlude (Winds Aloft), February 23, 2020

We'll return to Portugal shortly.  There is more to cover, including Lisbon, Porto, the Douro River, and a final visit to the Algarve.  But in the meantime, the drive yesterday along Turnagain Arm - Cook Inlet - was too striking not to stop.  Gusts buffeted the highway at sea level, and the winds aloft ripped cold, dry snow from ridges across the Inlet.  It made for drama, especially when stacks of big lenticular clouds appeared by Windy Corner.

These are four views, converted to black and white.

After a lifetime of mainly expressing myself with words, my postings here will mainly rely on images.  They will speak for themselves to some extent, but I'll usually add a few comments of explanation.  I've taken photographs for decades, since the 1950's, inspired in part by my father's photographic skill.  Four years of photo assignments and quality darkroom time eventually gave way to decades of casual and family picture-taking.  I re-immersed myself when I left film and turned to digital.
