For a variety of good reasons and bad excuses, the blog has languished since the Halibut Cove series of posts ended. The ski season skimmed off a lot of athletic and aesthetic energy and made it hard to maintain any schedule. But with the end of the ski season, and especially with the end of the race season, there will be more time to pursue non-race photography and to return to some sort of regular blogging schedule.
Here is a little preview of the next series: Auke Bay, Summer 2021.
There will be Big Scenery, from Lynn Canal, Tracy Arm, and Auke Bay:

There will be Animals, some Big, like the two descending cubs, the heron, and the sparring eagles,

and some Small. 131A9788-Edit
Foliage and flowers will provide color, some bright, some subtle.

Hopefully there will be some signs of humanity.

And inevitably there will be intriguing abstractions and observations from daily life. 131A7156 131A7388 131A6281-Edit
After a lifetime of mainly expressing myself with words, my postings here will mainly rely on images. They will speak for themselves to some extent, but I'll usually add a few comments of explanation. I've taken photographs for decades, since the 1950's, inspired in part by my father's photographic skill. Four years of photo assignments and quality darkroom time eventually gave way to decades of casual and family picture-taking. I re-immersed myself when I left film and turned to digital.
