Waikiki Beach at sunset; idyllic but crowded. As always, the dark, volcanic rocks contrast with light on water and sand. A plus is the backlit spray from breaking wavelets blurred by the slow shutter speed. The sun is about to go behind the horizon, almost directly in line with the rock (and camera lens).
Canon 5DIII with 100-400 IS II lens at 100mm; 1/10th at f/16, ISO 50.
Waikiki may be crowded, but it is always interesting. All photos taken with same body/lens, except last shot, taken with 16-35 f/4.
After a lifetime of mainly expressing myself with words, my postings here will mainly rely on images. They will speak for themselves to some extent, but I'll usually add a few comments of explanation. I've taken photographs for decades, since the 1950's, inspired in part by my father's photographic skill. Four years of photo assignments and quality darkroom time eventually gave way to decades of casual and family picture-taking. I re-immersed myself when I left film and turned to digital.
