Dreamy, Creamy, Part Four; Anchorage, 2017

June 04, 2017  •  Leave a Comment

Finally, for the last post in this series, here are some images from yesterday, June 3, 2017 and one from June 2.  The Mother's Day white lily made such an impression here and had such longevity that Suzanne bought more lilies a week later.  The new lilies were on their last legs when I was finally able to photograph them on a bright, sunny afternoon.  By then they had started to wither and were leaving middle age much the worse for wear.  But they were still interesting subjects.  Here are four from yesterday.

The last dreamy image is a detail of a June 2 Hawaiian birthday arrangement for Adam.

In comparison, here is a focus-stacked reality-based image, shot and processed on June 3 with no hint of dreaminess, nor any creaminess, either.

After a lifetime of mainly expressing myself with words, my postings here will mainly rely on images.  They will speak for themselves to some extent, but I'll usually add a few comments of explanation.  I've taken photographs for decades, since the 1950's, inspired in part by my father's photographic skill.  Four years of photo assignments and quality darkroom time eventually gave way to decades of casual and family picture-taking.  I re-immersed myself when I left film and turned to digital.
