August 18, 2020  •  Leave a Comment

Halibut Cove revels in its sweeping vistas, but the details matter too.

Water

   Intricate line art

   Reflected house and pilings

   Spray and rainbow while crossing

Atmospherics

   High sky

   Sky, trees, mist

   Clearing for new cabin?

On the Beach

   Big rocks

   Little rocks

   Shells

   Logs

Birds

Crows; seemingly more than ever; nervy, raucous

Eagle; only one, but prominently perched

   And crow

   And owl

   And gull, ruffling feathers

   Grumpy eagle

   Dignity restored

   Eagle flyover during canning

   Scaup

   Gulls

   Grosbeak

More beasts

  Tidal life

Signs of human habitation

  Skiffs make good planters

  Blossoms

  Greenhouse

   Alex's house

   Planks, railing, shadows, floats

    Beached lapstrake

   Art house                                                                         Project

Former piledriver; The Shipping News (Annie Proulx) personified

   Floating house; Cove life personified

After a lifetime of mainly expressing myself with words, my postings here will mainly rely on images.  They will speak for themselves to some extent, but I'll usually add a few comments of explanation.  I've taken photographs for decades, since the 1950's, inspired in part by my father's photographic skill.  Four years of photo assignments and quality darkroom time eventually gave way to decades of casual and family picture-taking.  I re-immersed myself when I left film and turned to digital.
