Halibut Cove Fish n' Chips Party, Part Two; August 2017

August 25, 2017  •  Leave a Comment

A shortage of fish threatened the party this year. There was danger the event would, in Robin's words, become a Chips n' Chips Party.  Last-minute calls were winkling out fish in local freezers.   But Steve and Rock came to the rescue with some very timely halibut, caught and cleaned in time to guarantee there would be Fish with the Chips.  There was considerable relief mid-afternoon when they began calling in say they were starting to catch fish.

Here, by the way, is a direct link to the gallery showing more images from the weekend: http://bobeastaughimagery.zenfolio.com/p127234732

Luckily, their persistence paid off.

Everyone, locals and visitors alike, had a great time.

After a lifetime of mainly expressing myself with words, my postings here will mainly rely on images.  They will speak for themselves to some extent, but I'll usually add a few comments of explanation.  I've taken photographs for decades, since the 1950's, inspired in part by my father's photographic skill.  Four years of photo assignments and quality darkroom time eventually gave way to decades of casual and family picture-taking.  I re-immersed myself when I left film and turned to digital.
